Delta Air Lines began serving the airport with nonstop service to Atlanta from Minneapolis starting in October 2007. United Airlines started flying to Chicago from San Jose starting in March 2008. Southwest Airlines started flying to Denver from SJC in May 2009. Hawaiian Airlines began flying to Honolulu from SJC on July 1, 2009.
In fiscal year 2010 the airport had 53,000 aircraft operations, making it the eleventh busiest airport in the United States by passenger traffic and the seventeenth busiest by aircraft movements. In fiscal year 2015 the passenger traffic grew to 64,000 while aircraft movements decreased to 52,000 because of Delta Air Lines departure from the airport.
